I have recently read that there might be a link between low testosterone and elevated cholesterol. I haven't found any good information regarding this online. Does anyone know if this is true?
My DH had bad side effects to statins and went off them. He is exercising, eating a high fiber, vegetarian diet that includes fish oils, high vitamin C, lysine and proline, oats, etc. but his LDL is still 177 and his doctor wants it reduced. He is 61 years old and has NO libido. Could low testosterone be the reason his LDL is still high?
