I'm 56 and about 6 months ago my Dr switched me to Vytorim from Zetia for cholesteral. With Vytorin blood test are performed every 3 months for liver function. Right away my liver function was down and I didn't feel right. The Dr kept me on Vytorin and 5 weeks later we had another blood test showing my liver function down even farther. I was drinking 2 to 4 beers almost every night and he blamed it on that. He told me to keep taking the Vytorin, stop drinking, and referred me to a liver specialist. I figured it was time for me to take things into my own hands because I didn't like the way things were going. I did a lot of research, threw the Vytorin in the trash, stopped drinking, didn't see the specialist, starting watching what I ate, exercised, and started taking Milk Thistle and CoQ10 for liver function, and Red Rice Yeast for cholesteral. I also took Omega 3 and flaxseed oil. I did that for six weeks and told my Dr what I had done and was ready for a blood test. I haven't had good cholesteral for years but it was perfect along with my liver function. I don't know if this will work for everyone but it did for me and I'm very excited. I can't wait to talk to the Dr. personally to see what he says.
