Statins and Ringing in the Ears?

Hi,

Has anyone experienced ringing in th ears while on statins?

Yes. I have only been on Lovastatin for about three weeks, but decided to take myself off of it because of the side effects, of which I had many. Ringing in the ears was one that was particularly annoying. I have been off of it for two days now, and the ringing has diminished about 75%. I am looking forward to it being gone in a few days....

I have been off Zocor for a year and a half. I first became aware of a mild ringing in both ears sometime last year. It may or may not have been going on for some time before I noticed it. I usually only notice it when the house is quiet and I'm trying to go to sleep. My sense of it is that it has gotten somewhat worse, but that's very subjective. I would not call it bothersome at this point, and I have not sought medical help. It pales in comparison to my muscle problems.
