I too took Crestor for over a year. Last September, I started having some severe problems with throwing up, sugars bottoming out, and terrible intense pain in my legs, arms & lower back. Well, some of this had been going on for a while. First my legs, and I was put on Neuroten for Neuropathy. Then my back, it was suggested that perhaps I needed a firmer matress, so I got a new bed. Then there was the achy joints, must be a viral infection. But then, everything got worse when I started riding a bike for exercise. Suddenly, I was hurting all the time, like I had been beaten. Started waking up in the middle of the night with my sugars bottoming out around 40 on me, and becoming very naseaus, throwing up violently. I went to see me doctor, but had to see his associate as he was out that day. The associate looked over my chart and said, hmmm.. you take Crestor. He then told me that the symptoms I was exhibiting were some of the side effects of Crestor. It had never occured to me. This had been going on for about 8 months. And my doctor never even mentioned it. I'd even had some sever chest pain, for which he sent me to have an CAT scan done. The associate drew blood work that day, but told me to call back in three days to get the results, but to continue taking the medication for now. That day I found this web site. I did go back to the doctor the next Monday, (3 days) with information I had copied from this and other web sites. My doctor scoffed at it. He did take me off the Crestor , and had me start taking CoQ10. I was taking four a day. He tried to put me back on Crestor three months later in a lower dose, and I refused. I was out of work for several weeks due to the pain and weakness I was suffering. He also prescribed Darvocet for pain. Didn't do much though. I had problems at my job because I was out of work, but he would not confirm that the problems I had were due to Crestor , the best he would do was say that there was a possible drug reaction. I do not take Crestor or any other Statin now, I do exercise, I still take CoQ10, and watch what I eat, and oh yea... I have a new doctor.
