Subject: vytorin side effects


Hi, I am not sure if this is a side effect. I have tried to research it and several web sites mention eczema (yours didn’t). I have noticed a peeling of skin around my knees, elbows, upper arms and neck area. I have never ever had this problem. I am of Italian decent and have very oily skin. I am 52, but just since I have been on the Vytorin for 2 weeks, beside the headaches, fatigue and being overly crabby, the skin has started peeling! Several friends have made comments about it. Am I paranoid or is this a result of the Vytorin?

I read your posting and i too have the same problem.
but since my Dr took me off do to high enzimes its getting better.
how is your blood work looking
is it high or getting better?
I also have the headaches and being very hateful at times. where it comes from I have know idea
but it is getting better
good luck and tell your Dr about this and see if you can try all natural products enstead of vytorin
I bet we will see alot about this in the news in years to come.

SINCE BEING OFF VYTORIN FOR 3 MONTHS MY TEST CAME BACK NORMAL
AND TO THINK THEY WANT ME BACK ON IT
I WIL LOOK FOR OTHER WAYS TO LOWER MY CHOLESTERAL I WILL NOT USE ANY DRUGS
HOPE ALL ARE TALKING TO THIER DR'S ABOUT THIS

Below are statin side effects as pertains to:
SKIN, ARMS AND LEGS...

a.. Pruritus: Itching
b.. Contact dermatitis: Inflammation of the skin caused by an allergic
reaction to contact with a chemical, animal or vegetable substance
c.. Alopecia: Hair loss
d.. Dry skin
e.. Sweating
f.. Acne
g.. Urticaria: Rash with severe itching
h.. Eczema: Inflammation, itching, scabbing and burning of the skin
i.. Seborrhea: White discharge from the sebaceous glands
j.. Skin ulcer

All statins basically share the same side effects and Vytorin is part statin.
(combination of Zocor, a statin and Zetia)
