Does anyone know of any respected cardiologists in the LA area who are not afraid to NOT prescribe statins for secondary prevention in people who can't tolerate them. My experience with two physicians so far is that at first they agree that I can't tolerate them.... but later, something seems to spook them (maybe a letter from the insurance company asking why the patient didn't meet the NCEP goals) and they insist on writing and placing of copy of a Lipitor prescription in the file! - Nonetheless- I would appreciate any names you might know of.
Thanks,
